If you do have an e-mail address and check e-mails with some frequency you are encouraged to provide one to us. That way we can e-mail you program updates and important information. However, you do not need to provide an e-mail address to place an order. 4. What is the maximum amount of medication I can purchaseThe pharmacy can only supply as much medication as your physician prescribes for you, up to maximum of a three month at a time. It is recommended that you request a full year’s worth of refills from your physician for medications you take regularly. 5. What is the payment method for my prescription? Will you accept my insurance?Payment methods are Visa Debit/Credit, MasterCard, Electronic check, money order, and certified check. At this time, we are not on-line with insurance carriers. However, we will provide you with a proper receipt for insurance purposes should you want to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company. 6. Are all drugs available to be shipped by mail? No. A large majority of medications can be safely transported by mail; however, there are some medications that cannot be shipped safely. To find out if your medication is available for shipment by mail, search the www.veteranscareplus.com website product search or call our Customer Care Center. 7. Do I get charged a shipping charge for each prescription? No. The shipping charge is for each shipment. Spouses’ orders can be combined and shipped together for a single shipping charge. The standard shipping charge is $4.95 per shipment. If, due to extreme package weight, additional shipping charges apply, you will be notified at the time your order is placed for your approval. 8. Why is the price different from the last time that I ordered?Prices may change due to manufacturer price changes. 9. Do I need to fill out the forms each time I place an order? If you are an existing patient with new prescriptions, you will need to fill out the mail order form and include it with the original prescription. If you have refills available for existing prescriptions on file, you can simply contact the pharmacy by phone at 1-888-462-4579 to order your refills or place a refill order on-line. 10. What are generic drugs?A generic drug by law must contain the same active ingredients (the special chemical ingredient that makes the drugs work) and be equivalent in strength, and dosage to the original brand-name product. All generic equivalents of brand-name pharmaceuticals must be approved for sale by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). By choosing a generic medication instead of purchasing the brand-name medication, you can typically save a significant amount of money. 12. Can I use my local pharmacy to get the discounted pricing?Yes, by presenting the Veterans Care Plus Discount Prescription Card to your local pharmacy, they can look-up the discount pricing for your medications through their on-line computer system in real-time. Occasionally, your local pharmacist may offer you the pharmacy’s own discount prescription card or offer to match price without processing the order using the Veterans Care Plus card. Since every prescription processed using the Veterans Care Plus card helps strengthen our ability to advocate for better and better prices and manufacturer concessions over time, we strongly urge that you not let a pharmacy usurp that power and that you require the pharmacy to process your order using your Veterans Care Plus group number provided on the prescription card. In addition, remember that a portion of the proceeds from medications purchased using the Veterans Care Plus card goes toward financing the Twilight Brigade’s Compassion in Action program along with its 5,000 volunteers sitting at the bedside of dying veterans ensuring they do not die alone and with dignity. 13. How long will it take to process my order? Please allow up to 7 business days for delivery from the time you receive telephone confirmation of the receipt of your order. The pharmacy shall contact you or your doctor if additional information is required. If you need your medication more quickly, you can request overnight shipment for an additional charge or you can always purchase your medications locally and obtain your future purchase by mail. 14. How do I pay for my medication order? We accept payments by Visa (credit & debit), MasterCard, money orders, and certified checks. All checks should be made out to Veterans Care Plus and mailed to the following address. Please make sure to include your prescriptions when you send in an order for delivery to your home by mail.
